Third Coast ShortDocs Challenge

Printer-friendly version
Date/time:
April 30, 2012 (All day)

The competition encourages radio fans of all stripes and experience to get behind the mic and make their own short piece of radio. What makes it a challenge is that each piece must follow a few rules.

Deadline: April 30

We teamed up with Third Coast to devise this year’s rules. They are:

  • Each piece must include at least two of your neighbors.
  • Each piece must have a color in the title.
  • Each piece must contain three consecutive seconds of narrative silence.
  • Each piece must be (as always) two to three minutes long.

That’s it. The rest is up to you. Even what “your neighbors” means is up to you. You have until April 30 to create and submit your piece (which you can do on this SoundCloud page). Four winners — as picked by the Third Coasters and us — get a trip to the Third Coast conference in October, a SoundCloud Pro Plus account and the pride in hearing their work on national radio.
