Native American Public Telecommunication's Native Radio Theater project is kicking off its third season of audio plays with a story of young love and a new variety show that includes music, poetry, comedy and more.

March Point - The Swinomish Tribe is a clamming, crabbing and fishing community that has relied on the natural resources of Skagit Valley for centuries. In the late 1950's, two oil refineries were built on March Point, eventually effecting the health of the water, land and the very fabric of cultural tradition itself. [PBS Press Kit]
Waterbuster - A personal story of how a multimillion dollar project displaced the Mandan/Hidatsa/Arikara Nation in North Dakota. Producer J. Carlos Peinado returns to the Fort Berthold Reservation and discovers stories of the past as he assesses tribal identity. [Press Kit]
Weaving Worlds - Through untold stories of the intricate creation and often political sales of Navajo rugs, Weaving Worlds discloses the intimate portrait of economic and cultural survival through art. Audiences will discover the delicate balance between cultural continuity, increased globalization, and artistic motivation of this traditional form. [Press Kit]
Reporter Nancy Kelsey recently spoke with Tracy Rector, Executive Director and Co-founder of Longhouse Media, about her new documentary March Point. The two also discussed Tracy's work with Native youth and how she empowers them through media literacy and training.
Seven out of 10 Native Americans live in urban areas, according to the U.S. Census, and many are consumers of public media. As stations and organizations prepare for Native American Heritage Month in November, NAPT would like to share some interesting facts about who Native people are, where they live and how they are alike and similar from other Americans.
